Oncofertility is an emerging interdisciplinary field combining oncology and reproductive medicine to expand fertility options for young patients facing treatments that can affect reproductive function. The Oncofertility 101 Course provides an introductory overview of the field and demonstrates a team-based model for fertility preservation counseling and care. The Oncofertility Consortium focuses on the complex health-care and quality-of-life concerns of young people whose fertility may be affected by cancer therapies, treatments for autoimmune conditions, or disorders of sex development. Delivering comprehensive fertility-preservation services across the reproductive lifespan requires coordinated collaboration among multiple health-care disciplines.

Taget audience

The Oncofertility 101 Course features brief didactic presentations by leaders in the field woven together with complex clinical case discussions. It is primarily intended for oncologists, primary care physicians, and specialists in pediatric and adult hematology/oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric gynecology, andrology, and male infertility.

Fellows, residents, and early-career faculty in obstetrics and gynecology, urology, or internal medicine with a specific interest in oncofertility are also encouraged to attend.
